Product Review: Garnier Moisture Match Facial Cream

Story time!
So a few weeks ago I ran out of my old faithful moisturiser, which was the Clinique Moisture Surge cream that has served me well as a part of my skincare routine and kept my skin from getting really bad acne breakouts. It was an emergency and I didn't have time to go to my nearest Myer or order it online so I went into Priceline and picked up the Garnier Moisture Match Mattifying Fresh Cream. I went directly to Garnier even though I'd never used their non-haircare range before because I remembered reading online that they had a cheap duplicate of my Moisture Surge but alas, it wasn't in stock.

I picked this up and it's a 24 hour moisturiser specifically made for combination to oily skin (huge sigh of relief for me) but they also had it for normal/dry skin. It's stays for 24 hours and I use it in the morning and also at night and I have to say I haven't had any bad breakouts, it smells like green tea and hasn't done my skin anything bad, which is amazing for me because I have possibly got the worlds most sensitive, acne prone skin, which is what scared me about going and trying something new in the first place because a lot of things will break me out.

I'm just glad that this works and I'm more than happy to keep this around and might even repurchase it once it runs out (another big thing for me as I rarely do that!)

I'd recommend this to people that want a moisturiser that doesn't leave a bad residue on the skin or make you break out from it being there and just sitting on the skin all day as it absorbs so well and leaves no shine.

What are some of your favourite face moisturisers? Do you feel like high end products are always better or have you found some "hidden gems" for a fraction of the price?

21st Birthday OOTD

Last night was one of my friends 21st birthdays and I thought I'd share my outfit and choice in makeup for the occasion!

  • Top - ASOS
  • Skirt - ASOS
  • Belt - ASOS
  • Shoes - Lipstik
Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm crazily in love with ASOS and their plus sized range and that half of my wardrobe is probably ASOS. Anyone that knows me also knows that black and white is my favourite colour combination to wear (paired with a bold red lipstick of course, as always). I paired it with Illuminasqua's Matte lipstick in Maneater and some winged eyeliner. I would have tried to experiment with eyeshadows but I was really pressed for time between work and getting ready and my hair being thick and taking 500 years to curl. It's also for that reason that I'm sorry it's an iphone quality image, I really need to work on my time management in getting ready!

What are some of your favourite online plus sized clothing stores? I've been looking for more affordable websites but they all seem to be either extremely unfashionable to me or too pricey for my student budget (but that is a rant for another day and another blog post)

Introductions

It is currently 12:02am on a Thursday night and here I am introducing myself to my new blog. I've blogged some in the past but I'm going through some things that I really would like to document for myself and figured other people may (or may not be, I'm not going to judge) be interested in.

My name is Sara, I'm 20 years old and I'm a photography student. I wanted to start up this blog because I'm going to make an effort to change my life. I'm going to be changing who I see myself as as well as how other people see me. I'm currently "overweight" and have a habit of letting my anxiety ruining any chances of me having fun with my life, but that's all about to change.

I'm going to start eating healthier, not with the goal to lose weight and not to become fixated on some dumb numbers on a stupid scale that'll probably only end up consuming my mind, but to feel better about myself (and hey, if I lose a little weight, added bonus, right? I have PCOS so losing weight is definitely nothing short of a challenge for me - but that story is one for another post).

This is going to be a blog of me documenting my journey to self acceptance with posts about fashion, (because plus sized girls can look bangin' too and I'm here to show you how), lifestyle posts in which I do what I do best - taking photos - and also a lot of self love. This blog is going to be a self hate free zone for me and anyone else willing to read through this. Sometimes it's really tough to keep positive when you have as much going on as I do but this is me loving who I am and becoming perfectly okay with my flaws.
